Google Maps & Europe!?

How long has Google Maps been supporting Europe, Norway, Finland and Sweden? Where have I been?

Please write in with problems and suggestions if you’ve tested the Google Maps Plugin with any addresses in these countries. I’d be interested in improving the plugins to support these areas as best as possible.

I’d also like to try localizing the plugins, any help would be appreciated.

Update for Telus and Maybe Other Canadian Carriers

It’s been brought to my attention (thanks Brent!), that with a slight modification of the new iSync, Telus (and maybe other Canadian carriers’) phones can be fully supported. Edit the Verizon version of the V3c in the iSync MetaClasses.plist file such that “supportsCalendarsSync” is set to “yes”, that’s it.

I’ll be updating the plugin page soon to include relevant information now that the new version of iSync is available.

Microsoft Office Update

Old news, but the latest Office update adds support between iSync and Entourage. I don’t use Entourage, so I don’t know how well it works.

10.4.6 Update Supports V3c and More

The latest OS X update, 10.4.6, adds official support for the RAZR V3c (as well as the V3x and others). Note that the Verizon version does not support calendar syncing. I’m not surprised as I’ve had mixed feedback about the calendar syncing. Supposedly there is also a bug in the Verizon version, maybe the result of Verizon altering everything to meet their “requirements”?

While inspecting the new iSync MetaClasses.plist, it’s interesting to see that there’s a Verizon-specific version of the V3c listed. I’d imagine that calendar syncing could be re-enabled by changing the appropriate key-value pair, but there’s probably a reason why it’s not supported by default.

It’s probably best to remove my plugin from /Library/PhonePlugins/ before or after the OS update. You’ll need to re-add your phone when the update is done.
