Google Maps Plugin Version 1.3.1

With some very helpful feedback from some unlucky version 1.3 users (just kidding), I believe I was able to take care of the graying-out problem for countries that should not be grayed-out. It appears to have been an issue with the country codes and seems to have been mostly related to imported addresses. If anyone else comes across the problem with version 1.3.1, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Thanks.

Google Maps Plugin Version 1.3 Has a Problem Apparently

I pulled the plug on version 1.3 while I figure out why the menu is graying itself out for everyone except me. Version 1.2 is still available here. If anyone downloaded 1.3 and you’re having problems, sorry for the inconvenience, maybe you could let me know so I have more info to work with. If you’re not having problems, hey, I’d like to hear about that too.

Google Maps Observations

While testing the additions being made to version 1.3 of the Google Maps Plugin, I noticed that Google Maps is no longer displaying the “Did You Mean” message when you’re address isn’t quite right. I don’t know the cause of this, but it was nice to receive a suggestion for the correct address, especially when tracking down issues with the plugin.

Also, it appears that Google has added more zoom-out to the map, now entire world maps are available. Though, address searching still only pertains to the US, UK, and Canada.

Whether or not anyone reads this news I don’t know. One day I’ll have to install a real content management system for this page that supports comments.

Google Maps Plugin Bug Has Been Tracked Down

I was finally able to track down a bug that causes the Google Maps Plugin to not open the web browser. In the cases that I investigated, the cause was always an AppleScript Address Book plugin. The compatibility problem has been fixed for the next update.

Google Maps Plugin 1.2

Version 1.2 of the Google Maps Plugin is up. Many added features. Customizable options and filtering for many of Google Maps’ quirks.

I also noticed that some of my images were Tiffs… which didn’t not show up in Firefox (I didn’t even test IE). That’s been fixed.

Google Maps Plugin questions updated

I have started to cross out items on list of common Google Maps problems as I’ve implemented ways around them for the upcoming 1.2 release. Thanks for all the feedback.
